Peaky Blinders: The Rise
Why do you go away ?
So that you can come back. So that you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors. And the people there see you differently, too.
That's what Terry Practchett thought in Hat Full of Sky.
And this is what quintessentially defines the time travel to the 1920s Birmingham and Tommy Shelby’s gritty world brought to life by the Peaky Blinders Immersive experience in the Camden Market.
The Team at EcoScent was thrilled to collaborate with The Woodroffe Bassett Design to help create the right atmosphere on set.The immersive experience was brought to life by the carefully chosen scents along with the appropriate scent machines to diffuse them at the various visitor touchpoints.
The slight scent of smoke and whisky at varying intensity diffused by our small scent machines at the entrance provided the right ambience for the audience walking into the Shelby family meeting. Two large Ecoscent machines were positioned at different locations in the play to diffuse a more generic scent transporting the visitors to a different place and feel. Terry Cook, the Lighting Designer explains ‘I watched the show and saw Tommy always smoking and drinking Whisky so we have a blend of scents located by the entrance to the space to give a blast of atmosphere as the audience enters’.
