Health, Safety & Compliance
At EcoScent, safety and regulatory compliance are central to the development and supply of our fragrance products and scent-delivery systems. Products are assessed according to their intended use, concentration and destination market.
Fragrance Safety and Documentation
Our fragrance mixtures are assessed against the applicable IFRA Standards for their intended product category and maximum use level. IFRA conformity supports the safe use of fragrance ingredients but does not replace a finished-product safety assessment or compliance with applicable legislation.
Depending on the product, intended use and market, supporting documentation may include:
- IFRA Certificate of Conformity
- Safety Data Sheet
- Allergen declaration
- Technical and regulatory information
- CLP classification and labelling information, where applicable
Cosmetic products require a separate finished-product safety assessment, including a Cosmetic Product Safety Report, before being placed on the relevant market.
Workplace and Ambient Scenting
EcoScent systems are designed to disperse fragrance in controlled quantities when correctly installed, configured and maintained. Appropriate settings depend on the size, layout, ventilation and use of the space.
Businesses should review the relevant Safety Data Sheet and complete any workplace risk assessment required under applicable health and safety legislation, including COSHH where relevant. Fragrance intensity should be adjusted if occupants report discomfort or sensitivity.
Use Around Children and Pets
When used according to the supplied instructions, EcoScent products are intended for ambient scenting in occupied environments. However, individual sensitivities can vary.
Concentrated fragrance oils must be kept out of reach of children and animals. They must not be swallowed, applied to the skin or released into drains or the environment. Use products only in well-ventilated areas and discontinue use if irritation or discomfort occurs.
Anyone with specific concerns about a child’s, pet’s or other individual’s health should seek advice from an appropriate medical or veterinary professional.
Pregnancy
EcoScent does not describe individual fragrances as “pregnancy-safe.” Suitability depends on the ingredients, concentration, exposure and intended application.
Cosmetic products must be assessed through the applicable cosmetic safety process. Anyone with concerns regarding fragrance exposure during pregnancy should consult a qualified medical professional.
Allergens and Natural Ingredients
Fragrance mixtures, including those containing essential oils, may contain naturally occurring or added substances capable of causing an allergic reaction in sensitised individuals. Relevant allergens and hazard information are declared in accordance with the requirements applicable to the product type and destination market.
Supporting regulatory documentation is available upon request where applicable.
